Spot
Cure Units (SCU's) are
highly portable, lightweight UV exposure systems that utilize a flexible
optic wand for localized exposure of UV curable adhesives, coatings and
encapsulants. Designed for hand held or fixtured operation, the SCU has
a remarkably small footprint.

Peak UV energy is at 365 nanometers with intensity levels over 1,000 mW/cm2 (> 10 W/cm2 using EIT Spot Cure meter), allowing for a deep penetration cure of photopolymer adhesives and coatings. A flexible light guide wand brings high intensity UV to the work surface, providing hand held convenience or fixtured setups. With the optic wand tip secured in a fixture, and with the addition of a tinted acrylic UV filtering shield, the work area can be safe and productive for inspection and automated assembly. Control features include a digital shutter timer for exposure settings from 1 and 59 seconds, and a lamp focus to keep output power constant. With lamp life warranted to 1,000 hours, the cost of operation remains low while providing excellent price performance benefits over other curing methods. A time proven solid-state power supply and components add to the overall reliability of the system. UV processing may be integrated into industrial operations in minutes, allowing the immediate cost benefit gain of UV technology. UVEXS also offers the PM 600 UV radiometer for real time intensity monitoring. The PM 600 comes with a focus adjustment kit specifically designed for taking accurate readings from the SCU Series optic wand. Intensity monitoring allows lamp refocus following a lamp change or as part of a periodic Q.C. program.
