The Small Area Curing
Subsystems (SAC's) small area, high intensity UV curing unit fills
the need for a compact subsystem for localized exposure of UV curable
materials. The SAC features a scaled-down cabinet, lamps and lamp house
to facilitate production line integration where space is limited. A complete
SAC package includes a power supply module with adjustable lamp power
levels and a forced air-cooled lamp house module.

Short lamp sizes in a compact, modular design, for integration ease. Mercury vapor UV lamp with power levels at 150-200-300 watts per inch. Various packages for IR removal. Aluminum extrusion design. Internal pneumatic shutter and digital exposure timer are optional.
Complete surface and depth curing. Allows UV where space is a premium. Durable design exceeds rigorous industrial usage. Low temperature curing for heat sensitive materials. UV process means increased efficiency. Consumes 80% less energy than IR process. Reduced environmental impact (no solvents).
As part of a series of modular lamp systems, UVEXS offers the Small Area Curing system for efficient and affordable UV exposure of compact assemblies and substrates. The Model SAC requires minimal space for integration. Available features equal those of the larger UVEXS Model OCU Series including variable power levels up to 300 watts per inch. The high intensity, full spectrum UV energy (200-400 nm) rapidly cures adhesives, inks, coatings and potting materials, in thick section and without surface tack. The complete system consists of a power supply module and lamp house module with interconnect cables. A variety of options are available for controlling the exposure, filtering IR energy and lamp length.
2'' (5 cm), 4'' (10 cm), 6'' (15 cm) Standard or metal halide lamps are available.
The lamp house module contains a single medium pressure mercury vapor arc lamp. Internal cooling fans are standard on all lamp sizes with exhaust connections provided. Lift out lamp assembly eases maintenance procedures.
Medium pressure mercury vapor arc lamp available in 2, 4, and 6 inch lengths. Power levels are 150, 200 and 300 watts per inch standard, with 450 watts per inch optional. UVEXS lamps are warranted to operate for a minimum of l,000 hours.
Regulated ballast type power supply mounted in a separate forced air-cooled cabinet. Input requirements: 208/240 VAC, 60 Hz, single phase; option is available for 220 VAC, 50 Hz operation. Current varies with lamp size and power level; consult UVEXS for specifics. Reflector Configurations
When ordering, specify lamp length, reflector configuration (R1, R2 or R3), lamp power levels, and desired options (shutter, "Ready" signal, variable reactor, etc.) Spare lamp recommended.
It is recommended to connect the air exhaust to a facility exhaust system; air flow rates vary with lamp size. Installed lamp house may require shielding around curing area to protect operators; consult UVEXS for design considerations or custom shielding packages.
