The Model OCU is a modular, UV curing subsystem designed for integration into existing process equipment. The UV source provides high intensity, full spectrum UV energy (200 - 400 nanometers). UV curable inks, coatings, adhesives and potting materials are rapidly cured with no surface tackiness. The modular components include quick mounting bolt patterns and Mil Spec connector interfacing for simple PLC interconnect. The Model OCU Series reflects engineering excellence from design through final performance testing. OEM arrangements are available through UVEXS which are backed by engineering and technical support to assist with immediate and long term service needs. UVEXS offers unique specialty features to maximize the usability of a UV process even where automated performance monitoring and control are required.
The lamp house module contains a single medium pressure mercury vapor arc lamp. Internal cooling fans are standard on all lamp sizes with exhaust connections provided. Lift out lamp assembly eases maintenance procedures.
Medium pressure mercury vapor and metal halide doped lamps are available. Power levels are 150, 200 and 300 watts per inch standard, with 450 watts per inch optional. UVEXS lamps are warranted to operate for a minimum of l,000 hours.
Power ON and OFF switches. Lamp LO/MED/HI selector. Power level indicator. Lamp operation hour meter. Optional shutter control package includes additional controls as follows: timer ON/OFF switch, digital timer setting (1-59 seconds), and manual OPEN switch.
Regulated ballast type power supply mounted in a separate forced air-cooled cabinet. Input requirements: 208/240 VAC, 60 Hz, 1 phase, or 420/440 VAC, 3 phase as required; option is available for 50 hz operation. Current varies with lamp size and power level; consult UVEXS for specifics. The cabinet type varies with kilowatt requirement.
It is required to connect the lamp house air exhaust to a facility exhaust system; air flow rates vary with lamp size. Installed lamp house may require shielding around the curing area to protect operators; consult UVEXS for design considerations or custom shielding packages.
When ordering, specify lamp length, reflector configuration (R1, R2 or R3), lamp power levels, and desired options (shutter, "Ready" signal, variable reactor, etc.) Spare lamp recommended.
