The Model ECU expandable curing unit is
a modular approach to high intensity UV conveyor curing systems for industrial
applications. The result of a UVEXS commitment to innovative engineering,
the Model ECU provides convenient features with an effective and durable
design. All the benefits of UV technology; increased productivity, reduced
energy consumption, and elimination of pollutants are available in a flexible
package of features to meet nearly every production requirement. Select
from several conveyor and lamp sizes, as well as, features for tunnel
clearance and optical filtering of IR energy. Should an additional lamp
be required in the field the Model ECU will accommodate a retrofit addition.
Each medium pressure mercury vapor lamp is maintained in a thermally stable
environment by a controlled, forced air cooling system. The stand alone
floor frame has adjustable legs for matching the conveyor height with
other processing conveyors.
Medium pressure mercury vapor are lamp
available in 12, 24 and 36 inch lengths. Power levels are 150, 200 and
300 watts per inch standard. UVEXS lamps are warranted to operate for
a minimum of 1000 hours.

The belt is a fine mesh stainless steel
type supported by hard anodized guide rails. An industrial type motor
drives the belt with several speed ranges available as required: 1-10
fpm, 5-30 fpm or 10-100 fpm. The drive motor is controlled by an SCR type
speed control. Standard belt widths are 12, 24 and 36 inches to match
the lam size desired.

Adjustable Clearance Option
|
An optional adjustment package is available
for providing increased clearance through the conveyor tunnel. The adjustment
has an indicator which shows the clearance in inches. Clearance range
is 1-5 inches.
Consideration should be made to provide
for removal of lamp house exhaust air, as by connection to a facility
exhaust system. Input power should be from a dedicated line to prevent
possibility of damage to electronics from potential voltage spikes.
Each UV lamp has an individual power supply,
a regulated capacitor ballast design. The power supply is mounted inside
the frame cabinet, and has a quick disconnect power cable for the UV lamp
assembly.
